IDIQ Contract for U.S. Bureau of Reclamation
Great Plains Region

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation engaged Eisenbraun and Associates to provide professional surveying and mapping services under a 5-year indefinite quantity contract throughout the states of Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. The services to be provided under the contract included construction, geodetic, boundary, topographic, route, hydrographic and cadastral surveying. E/A was given the task to serve as Prime Contractor over the large project.
The E/A Approach
An example of work that has been completed to date under the contract include a cadastral survey along the Calamus Reservoir near Burwell, Nebraska, that involved the survey of two parcels of land in two sections in Garfield County. Nebraska NAD 27, South Zone, state plane coordinates were established on all corners and the boundary line was further staked at a closer interval for fence construction. E/A survey crews also performed topographic surveys and digital mapping for three areas of the Arrowwood NRW and Smokey's Landing near Jamestown, North Dakota. The project sites required the completion of both topographic and hydrographic surveys to achieve the desired results. Additional projects included a plan and profile survey at Kim's Marina near Helena, Montana; topographic surveys for the Paradise Valley Irrigation District in Montana; a settlement survey at Pilot Butte Dam near Morton, Wyoming, requiring precise GPS horizontal movement surveys and electronic digital level vertical surveys; a detailed easement survey along Tiber Road near Lower Marias Unit, Montana; and topographic and monitoring surveys at Altus Dam near Altus, Oklahoma. Pictured here is a reach of the Platte River in Nebraska for which the firm completed hydrographic surveys for the USBR.
The Outcome
This IDIQ contract for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation exemplifies the ability E/A has acquired to successfully manage large government projects that have mutability in the amount and geographic location of work to be done.
