Fox Run Subdivision Development Project
Yankton, South Dakota

To help spur and control growth in the northern part of Yankton, South Dakota, the City of Yankton purchased a large tract of ground north of the City. Following a master plan study, it was determined that the area should be developed into residential and commercial tracts centered around an 18-hole golf course. The residential area in the northwest part of the tract was sold to a private developer to be turned into a residential development named Fox Run Subdivision. Eisenbraun and Associates was involved with the initial planning, and was hired by the private firm to develop the Fox Run Subdivision.
The E/A Approach
Eisenbraun and Associates worked with the developer in laying out a master plan for housing and infrastructure needs. The City of Yankton provided oversight and approval of the design. Over time, the subdivision has been built in numerous phases. Eisenbraun and Associates has worked with various developers over this time in providing planning, survey, design, bidding and construction administration services.
The Outcome
The development has been a very successful project for the City of Yankton and an attractive amenity adjacent to the 18-hold Fox Run Golf Course. Yankton’s Highway 81 business corridor continues to develop along the Fox Run development.
